Site Announcements: the slippery slope

missionless update
This site was created with the intention of disseminating original content derived from direct first-hand experience. We have received inquiries asking why we weren't discussing the latest and greatest of human potlatches in Iraq, but this site was never intended to be a soapbox for random personal opinions.
Adam's domestication in the PacificNW, and my commitment to finishing an academic degree (a necessary evil if i'm going to rub elbows with geraldo) has precluded any FLM operations at this time.
A lack of balance in the voices speaking prompts us to respond. Though small and feeble, though unsanctified by media approval, and lacking the street cred of corporate sponsorship - there are things that must be said.
[The Iraq related posts have been moved here and here.]
More, yo.
There are many good blogs out there. However, the wide-spread ill-logic and rampant delusion is a product of repetition - the emptiest of slogans derives meaning with time and redundancy.
Just what the hell is a weapon of mass destruction anyways? Would oil qualify?
It's the same magick of Aleister Crowley, Adolph the Hitler, or Tony Robbins.
Put such slogans in an emotionally evocative context of paranoia and misinformed suspicion, they develop a body of unspoken meaning. "Defending Freedom" cloaks a punitive invasion for unquenched vengeance.
It's classic captor psychology - the good/bad cop construct. Tom Ridge can spook us with dire warnings of impending orange-hued amorphous pain, while the military promises a war that will end this anxiety; provide Security - terminate our cognitive dissonance with extreme prejudice.
